Really big and beautiful cathedral. One of the best I've seen in the UK. Lots of features and things to see - lots of big stainglass windows that have been VERY well kept, reflection/meditation room, King Edward 2nd tomb, ornate walk way featured in Harry Potter, courtyard with fountain etc. You have to pay £3 to take photos which I... Visited Gloucester for the day with my family, and I read on here that this cathedral is the top attraction in Gloucester. I can see why. The staff inside are so helpful and friendly. A guide showed me to where certain scenes were filmed in the first and second Harry Potter films. This was music to my ears as I... More

Went to Gloucester on recommendation from a friend. You will love this place with its fantastic cathedral, great shops including shopping city and the fantastic docks with its restaurants and outlet centres and boats. Enjoyed the visit.

Having lived in the area for 16 years I finally got to go to the Cathedral last year and wow. It's amazing. Well worth the trip. You can spend as much time here as you like and just walk around and wonder at the beauty and history of the place. Lovely cafe. Information is plentiful. You need to buy a... More

Lots of fantastic architecture all round the building inside and out. Sadly spoilt for us by all the digging outside- what a messl and what a din. Also spoilt our chance of photos. Most of it will hopefully be gone for the summer but it's interesting to know there are archaeologists on site during the works. Also I read that... More
