Overview
More
Gloucester Life Museum is one of the oldest-established museums dedicated to social history. Set in three 500 year old Tudor timber-framed buildings, one of which was traditionally associated with the final night of the Protestant martyr, Bishop Hooper, the Life Museum is a complex of rooms on different levels with a unique ambience that makes it a popular destination for locals and visitors. Please note that due to the age of the building there is no disabled access to upper floors. Gloucester Life Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am until 5 pm.

A diverse and very interesting collection of exhibits, set in a handsome black and white C15th building in Gloucester's historic Westgate street. The building is a very appealing structure, with sympathetic restoration over three floors in this former pin factory. Each floor reflects the social...More

Got a membership for family, £15.00 for the year for both museums. Great for taking the grandchildren. Loved the new rooms downstairs but far too many things display!shed that I remember. Made me feel old. Kids love the outside play shed.

It was a larger and more interesting museum than I had expected it to be with lots of really interesting artifacts spanning history from the Tudor times to almost the present day. My six year old loved it. For me, the building itself was the...More

The museum was really interesting and depending on how much you care to read you could spend a good couple of hours there. I loved the information about things that had been found in and around Gloucester itself dating back centuries but only found relatively...More

In some ways the museum building was of more interest than the exhibits. Occupying an old pin factory, the upper floor has a display about pin making in Gloucester and some of the machinery used when Gloucester made by hand some of the best pins...More
