Interesting area to visit, and some good pubs offering a variety of food. Lovely and peaceful. I envied the people who live around there.

Nice little heritage centre explaining the history of the area. Small and compact but packs plenty in. The centre itself sits on the bank of the canal and you can often find narrow boats and barges moored up in front.

We were out walking today and found this lovely little visitor centre. Run by volunteers and packed full of all things canal. Fabulous find and well worth a visit. Can't wait to go back and have another look with the rest of my family.

I came for the family history day as one of my ancestors was a boatman from Shardlow. The amount of information the heritage center had was exceptional

Packed with interesting info and exhibits. Bit cluttered but lots to see. Well worth 75p. Just watch the limited opening hours.
