Beautiful tranquil and peaceful

A good long walk round. Over bridges through the forests. Great views. Lovely little cafe with a bygone era feel. A must in autumn in Bolton.

Beautiful setting for a family walk in the country just minutes from the hustle and bustle of life. Nature at its best.

Decided to go for a walk yesterday and as Jumbles is not far from home thought it a good idea. The walk took us about an hour around the reservoir, it was clean, well maintained with clear pathways. Met other walkers with dogs and children who all seemed happy with their walk.

Enjoy a varied walk around the reservoir and finish up at the cafe. Can definitely recommend the rum and raisin ice cream.

Nice location, it could be anywhere and it's so quiet. As previously mentioned in other reviews there isn't any signposts once your in but I think that makes it more fun. I went off in various different directions and still ended up coming back to the reservoir. Not sure if it was the path I took or if it's the... More

This is a beautiful spot with a fairly clean walk around the reservoir, even after a spot of rain. I walk my dog around here regularly and she loves it. There is a small cafe and a sailing club also. I called into the sailing club to enquire about learning to sail and found them very helpful and welcoming. I... More

We took our two young children (ages 5 and 2) and our dog for an afternoon adventure. It is a lovely reservoir hidden away. The car park wasn't huge but we had no trouble finding a space. It was pay and display but the ticket machine was broken so it was completely free on this occasion. We walked all the... More

A good area to walk and enjoy the tranquillity of this reservoir area, especially on a sunny afternoon. However the terrain is variable, and can be muddy in places even on a summers day.

The children love going to Jumbles. The paths are well maintained and there is a super little cafe next to the car park which sells fab ice cream.
