I have walked various sections of the Wheel either alone or with family. I've found myself feeling uncomfortable walking alone along some stretches of it and now stick to busier sections when on my own. A good way to get fresh air and exercise. A...More

Developed in 2012 as a legacy to the Preston Guild, this 22 mile circuit around Preston is a great way to get fit by either running or cycling the course or wheel. Some parts are on the main highways, but some are hidden gems and...More

The Guild Wheel is a cycle path - which I have never cycled around completely - but I have walked most of it!! It is 30 miles round. You get to see Preston, rural areas, exercise - it really was a good idea to get...More

Preston does not promote this opportunity particularly well. A well thought out cycle route round the city with minimal contact with the highway system so relatively risk and conflict with vehicular traffic. So great scenes to take in and one or two tough little hills...More

Have walked the Guild Wheel. Excellent for the main part but lacklustre coming from the area near the car showrooms. For the main part, out in the countryside enjoying the outdoors and views. One or two climbs but certainly manageable

Done this ride quite a few times, it's always a favourite with the family, biggest fault to me personally is lack of refreshments after you leave docks nothing at all until you get to Bluebell Way. But even for this fault is still a brilliant...More

There are numerous access points to the guild wheel as it generally runs along dedicated paths and bridleways with some road sections. There are several pubs/cafes etc along the route which would all provide good starting... More

I think you would struggle with a dog as much of the route crosses roads and most of it is in areas where a dog would need to be on a lead. I wouldn't recommend taking a baby on any part of the route except the stretch by... More
