Good Venue- worth the Drive from Wolverhampton.

Paid to get in went out to find friends for a very rude bouncer to tell us to get out when asked why he gave no explanation on why manager of the security came over the second I brought up that i was witness to one of their Bouncers attacking somebody he just said end of conversation and walked off... Handsome Family at The Assembly gave us an excuse to break our journey for a Thai at the Bartons Arms in Brum. Unreserved seating at The Assembly- a nice surprise, though the seats were a bit narrow for some ample frames. £5 for a pint and a half of San Miguel- very reasonable. An hour to get home on a... What great staff ... needed a chair for my 90 year old rock chick mother... guy called Yoyo (aka Paul) sorted it and made sure she was able to see the stage and was really comfortable ... awesome

Excellent establishment which is an old theatre. The inside has loads of charm and character, it's a gorgeous building. Seen a few bands here, from The Damned to the Ruts, and there's always a good view to be had, whether from the balcony or right up the front. Decently long bar with plenty of staff, so easy to get served.

Saw The Damned here and was very impressed by them. The venue itself probably holds 700 people and was about two thirds full. Queues at the main bar were fairly long but there's another one inside that had no queues. Disappointing that the gig had to start early to accommodate a disco later on, seems wrong to compromise two events... More

Top night out to see Live Wire - AC/DC tribute act. Great venue, terrific musicians and we managed to park on the street just a 5 minute walk way from the venue. Even the support act were worth a listen.

Had the pleasure of recently seeing the excellent Genesis tribute band 'The Musical Box' at this great venue. Smaller than many other places but it felt like everyone was close to the action with good views of the band and the acoustics were fine.

Came here last weekend to see a Genesis tribute 'The Musical Box'. Really nice venue, although it wasn't all open, the bar upstairs overlooking the stage was shut. Lot of people there but we had a fairly good view. Bar service was fine, didn't have to wait long for a drink. I'd like to go back and see some other... More

We've been to many many gigs at the assembly. Most recently Grand Master Flash and the Sugarhill Gang Feat Melle Mel & Scorpio. It was truly Epic. I've never been to a bad gig or night at the Assembly. They need to get Red Stripe back in the fridge though. Intimate stage, great bands for the size of venue, reasonable... More
