Manchester Cathedral has been centre stage in its city’s history for nearly 600 years. In 1421 Henry V signed a royal charter granting permission for a collegiate church to be built. In 1847 a new Manchester diocese was created and this historic church became a Cathedral. The doors are open 7 days a week and the admission is free. Do not miss one of the most interesting churches in the land at the heart of one of the most exciting cities on Earth.

Popped in for a visit. The stained glass was beautiful, stunning. A pound to take photos which is worth it. They were preparing for a dinner which I was surprised about in a place of worship!!

Disabled parking and access as well as toilets are difficult and I was directed on a major trek past pubs and eateries to a cafe that looked like no connection and through there to a cathedral visitor centre. You had to believe that you were...More

Manchester cathedral is undergoing more improvements. Tucked in the middle of town, it is worth a quick visit.

We had a tour with a really informative guide who told us about the cathedral and background of some of the people connected with it. It was peaceful even though they were setting up for some band to play there later that evening. They also...More
