It breaks my heart to see the mess that Piccadilly Gardens has become. It needs an overhaul. The tram stop, bus stops and the open space just don't work. Was the original Gardens better? Probably.

This place used to be quite grand. As it is, they built a horrible concrete wall and iron tree, playground and fountains that feral children run through. Hold onto your wallets and don't stay unless you're going into one of the nice restaurants here. A...More

The pigeons are probably the safest and clean thing you will find here. I'd suggest a wide detour to avoid this area. Full of people asking for money, selling drugs or off their face on them. Confusing bus & tram lanes.

On recent trip to Manchester i was lucky with the weather so sitting out on the grass in Piccadilly gardens was great.The fountain was great.Everyone was happy.
