The Whitworth always had brilliant exhibitions and is such a beautiful building. The park surrounding the gallery with installations is lovely, so is the coffee room - great prices and food. I love coming here just for a look around, lovely place.

Took the magic bus here and found a world class art gallery! Love the setting, love the extension with its panoramic windows and views across the park...love the cafe and museum. Often northern city museums have a real provincial feel with endless pre Raphaelite works...More

Called in as in area and never been before. I like art and have visited the galleries in London but this was not for me. The exhibition about time left me cold I didn't understand what the artists are trying to convey. The bath with...More

I have visited the Whitworth a number of times- especially with my eldest (now 5) and really like the gallery. However today I was really disappointed- the cafe was great but the staff in the gallery seemed bored. Not one of them tried to engage...More

Been a year or so since we last visited here, and there is quite a varied range of exhibitions at any time. The exhibition to do with dementia had just finished and was being dismantled, so one space was out of action, but we saw...More

A really interesting gallery with a wide range of art displayed each time we've been. Cozens exhibition of mainly Italian views was inspirational. The Raqs Media Collective installations and outdoor demonstration were remarkable. The gallery shop is very unusual in its range of gifts, I'm...More

This is an art gallery with a difference, the building itself is a work of art, as is the amazing cafe/restaurant. Once inside, you are free to explore and witness some superb modern art. I love it here, as even though some of the installations...More

The Whitworth has a great original building, with a great new extension. What a shame that the current curator is just another politically correct Marxist clone who insists upon hiding the real art in the collection, and showing only the brain dead ‘modern art’ rubbish....More

The Greenheys car park, just off Denmark Road, barely two blocks from the Whitworth, is lovely. £1/hour, with a parking attendant.
