It was a rainy day when we visited here, but it did not detract from our enjoyment of the area. There are some amazing statues and architectural buildings here, including the Town Hall. There are restaurants surrounding the area too.

Standing anywhere in the square , you can see the beautiful architecture of churches and mixed use buildings, plus ornate fountains. Easily accessible by foot from most downtown hotels, it gives you a nice place to people watch and grab some lunch.

Great spot for the numerous festivals held. There's usually always something but even when it's not got an event on, the square itself is beautiful with its original cobbles and fountain. A nice spot for people watching. Plus the bars and eateries around the square offer the same view with the addition of alcohol.

They made efforts to modernise it, but it lacks salt and pepper. I saw it in August, for Spanish festivities, and again in January, for the Chinese New Year. In summer it was more fun - music, dancing, good food, but it was too crowded - as with wooden structures, not with people. It lacked activities for children. A bit... More

A large public square that fronts town hall. It's a very picturesque and photogenic square, especially with town hall and Albert's statue as a backdrop. Tip: look up at the top of the spire on town hall. It's a cotton ball, something that you wouldn't expect to see. It's to honor the Manchester textile industry.

This is an attractive area in front of the lovely Victorian town hall. There is a memorial to Prince Albert which appears to be identical to the one in London, together with a statue of William Gladstone and a couple of Manchester 19c worthies. Unfortunately, the square is rather spoilt by all the discarded chewing gum on the pavements.

at the very centre of the city of Manchester, Albert Square and The Manchester Town Hall is a photo opportunity not to be missed at any time of the year - even more so at Christmas time when the Seasonal Market and Decorations are a sight to behold. surrounded by superb bars and restaurants - certainly worth your time

Visited on New Year, was told New year celebrations started at 10 so we went down at 10 and other than some music there wasn't much going on till 11.30. The event was very well organised considering the crowds that turned up. The square itself was really nice, very picturesque in the centre near all the attractions and shops

Manchester's best square. In the summer it's great sitting on the benches overlooking the town hall. It's very picturesque!
