Hidden up a side street this is a welcome escape from the numerous trendy bars in Manchester. Just a great, traditional local pub where you can enjoy a relaxed drink with friends.

We visited hoping for lunch as the place had been recommended for good home cooked food. Unfortunately, it seems that since it was recommended the pub has changed hands. The servery looked deserted. We were offered burgers and told that they were moving to a...More

Visited The Ralph Abercrombie as part of our Ale trail. It’s a little off the beaten track but worth the effort to find. Good beer and was standing at the time of the local Peterloo massacre. Lots of tv screens for watching sport.

Brilliant bar tucked away down a side street, close to St Peters square and the Albert Hall. Staff friendly, security also friendly. Good range of beers and great atmosphere. This is a Man Utd bar, so be warned. Will return every time I’m in Manchester

Sometimes a haven of piece but often buzzing. Good ales, screens aplenty for sport, get away from it in the ‘garden’. Traditional with modern twists. Old Manchester at its best

A crowd of us descended on this Manchester institution during our Christmas get together. Whilst it was busy, service was good and the atmosphere very friendly. As ever, the beer was very good

Tucked away down a little backstreet in city centre. Staff were friendly and nice selection of beers. Good juke box, visited here to check out the Stone Roses mural in the beer garden, well worth the effort.

We have been coming to this pub for longer than I care to remember and I’m glad it is still around. There is always something happening there and it has a friendly, buzzing atmosphere. It is a great place to have a drink before going...More
