We walked around the whole lake where there were plenty of benches you could sit and take in the peace and wildlife. People could walk their dogs, fish, ride bikes, run, feed the ducks and swans. There was a swing park for the younger children...More

I've visited the park a couple of times now, it's nice for a walk on a sunny day. There are lots of dogs around most days too.

A good little escape on the edge of the city. Large area of water to walk dogs round, take kids on bikes or just sunbathe next to the water with an ice cream. Not really a place to spend a whole day, but perfect to...More

Only because I watched as two magpies tried to drag a duckling away from its mum and had to be rescued, and then a dog tried to assassinate one of the swans. The lake is almost exactly a mile round, for those who like to...More

Easy to get to by public transport, reasonable parking space for cars. Park is quite small but is a very pleasant place for a short walk, especially with a dog. Lots of trees, so views change as you walk round the lake. The park links...More

Park officer is on 01618815639. May be able to help, but the lake is used for fishing, and there may also be safety considerations to take into account as there is no lifeguard there.

There is an information centre by the entrance. There are a lot of parks in Manchester but this is a nice place for a walk.
