Curios about local habits. Visit was like in a hipermarche.

Nice place to stop and eat something typical french (les escargots, the snails or oysters, for example) but nothing spectacular.

We visit every market on our vacations because this is a slice of local people life/habits. This indoor market was ok, we expected something more - diversity, natural authenticity, but I feel like in a usual covered city store, like an hipermarche, not a traditional/paysant/local producers market (before Colmar we was in Malta and I remember thediversity from the Marsaxlokk... Ok so it is just a typical French indoor market, which means it is absolutely fantastic. The local bakery school was showing off their skills and offering lots and lots of delicious samples to try. The Poisonier had a special of Cancale oysters ( mine and Julius Caesers favourite ) with a glass of wine. How civilised is that ?... More

The Marche Couvert was a short walk from our flat and we shopped there almost daily. The selection of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, fish, breads and pastries was terrific. It's open daily except for Mondays. Not to be missed!

We strolled through the covered market looking at all the wonderful vegetables and the various meat shops, crafts and so on. Our best find was a small eating spot called Legumez Moi, where we had a great lunch. Our limited French resulted in us ordering too much food and the waitress was so sweet in letting us know. One of... More

Bought our lunch here plenty of places to purchase rolls, pizza, baguettes, fruit and vegetables. Worth a look and prices are reasonable for a very popular tourist resort.

It is not rich as the market in Barcelona. It is small and an average market. It is in the old city and close to little venice

We always visit covered markets because they provide a good selection of local food items. Here you find the local cheeses, wines and sausages. It is always interesting to browse around. We do.

It was closed Monday, but we enjoyed a quick visit just before leaving Colmar on Tuesday. Lots of cheese, meats, vegetables and breads and souvenirs attractively presented in the old building.
