This museum is a little jewel. It provides a glance of how life once was. It is very small and unfortunately there is not much written information, which is something that I usually like a lot in museums. Neverhless, it doesn't take much time to visit and if you have time, it is wrote to go.

I found this charming museum with its wonderful collections depicting traditional Alsacien life really quite fascinating. I love the way the rooms were set up as they would have been in a house.

My review is for the staff, not for the museum which was very beautiful and a real introduction to the Alsacian life and history. I highly recommend to visit. So my rating for the museum itself is a five star one, wish I could rate it higher. My complaint is about the two blonde ladies selling tickets at the museum.... More

We called in to the museum to keep out of the cold, and discovered a great display of life in Alsace over the past. Thre is everything set out in houses over a number of floors. There are free audio guides and many of the exhibits have some narration. There are also many boards with descriptions and many of these... More

This museum is full of the local culture and life style. The Alsatian Museum is a museum of art and folk tradition, offering museum visitors a charming tour of Strasbourg’s old houses linked together via staircases and wooden passageways. Roughly a thousand objects are on exhibit, attesting to rural Alsatian life from the 18th - 19th centuries including costumes, furnishings,... More

This museum highlights the Alsacien lifestyle over generations of people who lived in the region. We enjoyed the exhibits, but the museum itself was as interesting. We went outside and inside, up and down, viewing the half-timbered architecture of three buildings combined in an artistic extravaganza of displays. Loved it!

I have visited some of the museums around Strasbourg, but this one by far is the best! The quality of the articles being exhibited there, the house itself, makes us feel as if we were in the past. I think they cover the major aspects of ancient life around the region. They even have a section dedicated to ancient baking... More

It is by far the best museum in Strasbourg. You learn the Alsatian culture and the Alsatian customs. It is necessary that everybody must visit this museum when visiting this town. Absolutely a must-visit!

Well done museum which goes on and on through different levels and rooms. Lots of displays and good information. My only negative comment would be about one worker. She was unhelpful at every opportunity. She even said no change would be given. So we carded the $3.50 per senior entrance fee. Later we found out others in our group DID... More
