Awesome natural history museum

Small yet so many species are there! So many interesting things to see and learn. We enjoyed our time with our 8, 11 and 14 years old.

Exhibits are very poorly organized, at times making no sense whatsoever. Many of the animals are falling apart, dusty, or otherwise in bad repair. Few translations / explanations in English. I'd skip it unless you are a particularly passionate zoological fan.

Ideal for children as it is not too big only two floors. Allow one hour. Go in groups as it is a bit pricey. Maybe a refreshment area would be nice for summer when the heat is unbearable inside.Beautiful building and quiet cosy library.

I love natural history museums. I loved the museum in Paris with all the animal bones, and the corresponding one with the taxidermy. I've been to the Natural History Museum in NYC more times than one can imagine. So it's not that this kind of museum isn't my cup of tea. It is! That's why we went. I can't believe... More

A musee not to be missed especially if you have children. It has a very good collection although I know others with collection much better. Is free on the first Sunday of each month.

This is a great museum for zoology students and kids. It is not like a zoo or a safari where you enjoy live animals but rather a place you learn about phylogenetic systems and genealogical branches of animals. Having studied zoology & ecology eons ago, I could greatly appreciate the length they had gone to present it to the public... More
