    Stunning building, interesting exhibitions.
First off, it's worth going just to see the building which is a refurbished warehouse, it is stunning and an art work in its own right. The exhibits are more variable and much down to personal taste. Some we liked, some ok and some, sorry I'm not with you....We stayed a couple of hours and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Its an easy walk from the centre of town and worth a visit.

Amazing building let down by poor exhibits
Contemporary art is always very decisive, but I struggled to see the point ofbhow the huge amount if floor space in this amaz8ng building was used. After visiting the Guggenheim this was very disappointing but I realise its a different experience. The most interesting part for us was actually the photographs expo on the 2nd floor and the wonderful man who was in duty there who showed us how to find the English explanations. We were lucky that when we visited it was a free entry day (1st Sunday of each month) . If we had paid to enter I would have been even more disappointed. Very nice cafe on the top floor and a lovely building but the exhibits are really not correct.

Fantastic building (5 stars—old warehouse) and reasonable ticket price. Location near Quinconces (the giant plaza and transit transfer station) and the river front is convenient, and the neighborhood is classic old Bordeaux in appearance (light yellow limestone building of a French neoclassical style) and uses (cafes, shops, etc.). As for the content, The best thing was the architecture wing (upper level): 4 stars for a large, broad exhibition on the art & architecture of Disney; 2 stars for a small exhibition on a quarry reuse in China. The “Art” on display (street level) was an embarrassing bad joke, even by the low hit-or-miss standards of contemporary art. Zero star for a huge pointless scattered-found object installation occupying the entirety of the museum’s Great Hall; 2 stars for a modest gauze-over-geometric forms show in side gallery. Zero star for the piled-up-rocks “installation” on the roof terrasse.

My guide book (Lonely Planet) said this was a must see. I beg to differ. What a waste of time. The gallery is undergoing refurbished and really should be closed. There is a reduced admission fee of 3 euros but the person on the ticket desk did not say that there was hardly anything to see. There is 1 tiny exhibition called Blank which is quite blank. The cafe is closed. I had a polite conversation with the ticket desk saying that visitors should be warned that there is hardly anything to see at the moment. Avoid what a waste of time and effort.

A main attraction in the charming Chartrons quarter of Bordeaux is the CAPC, short for 'Musée d'Art Contemporain', located in an attractive warehouse from the early 19th century, where once colonial goods were stored for reexport to Northern European countries. The building is in the style of a Roman basilica with naves, pillars and arches. After a renovation it functions since 1973 as a museum for modern art.

In the main hall are usually temporary exhibitions. When we visited the whole space was taken over by works of Czech installation artist Eva Kotatkova with the title 'Mon corps n'est pas une île' (my body is not an island). In smaller rooms upstairs are works to be seen from the museum's permanent collection, such as by Arte Povera representative Mario Merz from Italy, whose 'Philosophical Egg' has become a part of Zurich's main railways station.

Two elongated terraces by the roof are dedicated to Land Art by Richard Long with a line of slates and a line of rocks. There is also a café and a bookshop at the museum.

I’ve visited several times for different exhibitions. The exhibitions are pretty eclectic and often towards the weirder end of modern art so you may or may not like them but they’re always worth a look. But the building alone is worth the entry fee. A stunning conversion of this vast old shipping warehouse has created amazing spaces for art. It feels like a cathedral. The Bordeaux architects society are also based there and often have exhibitions and displays too. And the rooftop café is fab too!

The ground floor was empty and the other 'collections' were rubbish.
Shame as was looking forward to attending!
Tried to get our money back as very disappointed.
We will never return.

Exhibits can be a bit strange, but the inside of the museum is lovely and there is a great terrace restaurant on the roof.

Go, no matter what the show is, and if there is no current show, go in and visit the Arc en Reve architecture center, but take a look at the exhibit space, its magic!

Though in a building that could be spectacular - think Punta della Dogana in Venice - the contents weren't great, at least on this visit. The ground floor area showed 'Navigation Charts', one of the main works for which Lubaina Himid was awarded the Turner Prize in 2017. I'd read about it and viewed images online, but not seen it in person before. It's disappointing.
Elsewhere, in a somewhat rabbit-warren series of spaces, was a show curated from several regional museums. There was a preponderance of works featuring comic book imagery, a love the French share with the Japanese, but which leaves me cold. Other creations looked derivative of leading US artists. Richard Long makes an appearance with a pair of his hand-drawn mud circles on the walls of the top floor café, and a long pile of rocks on the roof terrace.
Herein lies the dilemma for galleries like CAPC worldwide. On the one hand they can't (and shouldn't afford) to deck their halls with Gagosians, but on the other their local contemporary art scenes aren't producing the work they feel able to showcase. Having said that there was one quite interesting project on the way in. This was an audience participation work by architect Philippe Jacques and the plastic artist Karen Gerbier. There was no English language translation, but it seemed to be about gathering visitors' views on the future of buildings. Much as I loathe graffiti / 'street art' I have to admit that 'best in show' was the Keith Haring painted on the wall of the elevator shaft. Admission was 7 euros and it's a nice ten-minute walk getting there from Bordeaux old town.

My wife and I spent a pleasant couple of hours at this gallery. The building is a former warehouse and was spacious and well laid out. The exhibits, like much modern art, ranged from fascinating to "what the heck was that??" We had a relaxing drink in the airy rooftop bar. This was a good afternoon!

Visited this yesterday and were very disappointed. All of the permanent collection is closed (May 2019) but they didn’t even tell us. So there were 3 temporary exhibitions, of which 2 were very small (and rubbish!). As we left when I said to the staff they should have told it most of it was closed before selling us a ticket they didn’t care. Based on the reviews here, they must be used to bad feedback. The building itself is impressive but the space isn’t used well, there is little information and poor signage so you don’t know what there is (not much!) or where to go. Worse contemporary art gallery we have ever been to, and we have been to many.

A great space with all but but 2 exhibits a joke. 3 green canvases on a wall. A black canvas on a wall. Massive rocks stacked on each other. After touring the L’ Orangerie in Paris, I was glad to see real contemporary art. Tired of viewing abstract stuff being called art by some group of “art experts”. SAVE YOUR EUROS!!!
