Quite small but in a lovely setting and a nice collection. Many museums are exhausting. This is modest in size and it was not too busy. Well worth a visit.

A relative small museum with a wide range of painting and scupture, the museum has organized its displays according to theme rather than chronologically, geographically or by school. Being able to compare, side by side, many works on the same theme from different artists, time...More

So judging by the size of the building we were expecting something on the Louvre scale, however it is two wings of art although large wings to be fair. €5 to get in. Under 18 free. Some great paintings but some weirdly annoying tree installations...More

This museum covers 15-19th century and is housed in two building either side of pretty gardens. The paintings are set out chronologically, which I like in the smaller museums as can give you a feel for progression and change. There are few 'wow' pieces here...More

The museum is clearly split between the North and South wings, with a pleasant garden separating them. The former has a collection of earlier works, not of a particularly good quality in my opinion, but I am a little biased as I don't particularly like...More

Nice collection of paintings and some sculpture spanning quite a few centuries and including works by some of the grand masters. especially interesting are the canvasses portraying Bordeaux in former times and work by local artists

There are some very interesting and good exhibits, and then there are some that just don't work - for me. If you have a spare couple of hours and like your art a bit on the different side, then try this museum.

An enjoyable visit, helpful staff and an eclectic collection. The display in the courtyard was particularly pleasing being composed of panels with central panels cut out but all based on works in the museum, novel ! French descriptors on all the works but some seemingly...More

There were a few interesting pieces in this otherwise mundane museum but nothing so outstanding that you would go out of your way to visit. It's in a pleasant building with two wings and is arranged more or less chronologically. It's closed Tuesdays and doesn't...More
