Beautiful little chapel with fantastic evening ceiling

Built by Eugenia wife of Napoleon III this is a gem. Beautifully decorated inside. Sad to see tiles fallen off outside. Bust of Eugenia in the garden. Well worth a visit.

Took some finding and then when we found the entrance found it is only open a few hours a week at present which was disappointing as the outside looks very different and highly detailed

It is worth to see it as it is very impressive from inside. The interior is amazing and with the guide and explanation the visit is very informative.

Is amazingly well preserved and in both inside and outside, inside is unreal the well preserved it is and if you have visited Mexico here you will see Virgin of Guadalupe as is painted in the ceiling of the church

We would not have reached here had it not been for guidance by our hosts who had been to Biarritz from Caumont. It is worth engaging a guide to understand the history and the beauty of the Chapel. The diverse cultures and the architecture that come together are indeed worth studying.

This is a "must see", otherwise you will miss out on French architecture. When I used to travel to France, Biarritz was an important stop; I had a picture of me bathing in the sea!

This little gem of a Chapel was commissioned by Empress Eugenie who was married to Napoleon 3rd. It has some mosaics reminiscent of Alhambra in Spain, Byzantine and Roman architecture and decorations. We happily paid for the tour because there was a Mexican connection to the black Virgin of Guadalupe. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. You need to... More

Although open only 2 afternoons a week ( check times ) it is worth to step inside. A short path through the garden brings you to a little jewel of a chapel. The interior decor is well worth sitting down and admiring the details all the way to the bees on the front pillars. There are some explanations available for... More
