This small harbor/marina is surely on your way, beneath you when you walk from Virgin Mary statue to the big beach, it's just beneath the Church. I suppose it had much more importance in previous times when Biarritz was nothing but a fishing village.
Supposedly historic place does have some potentials which are left under-exploited. The eateries and bars there are of a lower quality that it could be. Big improvised car-parking is a huge and main spoiler of the area.
Quaint marina located between aquarium / virgin rock and the grande plage, great for a stroll and exploring restaurants, cafes, and the seashore. We spend several hours and could have stayed much longer. Very scenic and good fun, highly recommended.
A pretty old seawall & marina area serving both working fishing trawlers & small pleasure boats. The tides here are fairly severe so the time to ship anchor is critical. A pleasant little side show as you explore Biarritz.
We had a wonderful walk along the waterfront and through this area. So beautiful and interesting as the harbour is tidal. Lots of little boat sheds which look like in high season have restaurants. Not open in December when we were there.
