This museum had many exhibits (although we had a hard time understanding some of the information because there was little in English) which presented the different cultures from about 30,000BC to 10,000BC. It's fascinating to see what man did back in this time.

In the Rough Guide it said this museum had a good collection of Roman mosaics, which is why we paid our admission. We went through the entire museum, and none to be found. There is a fine collection of neolithic artifacts, which we enjoyed, but...More

Particularly strong on prehistory, with reconstructions and artefacts. Films showing the making of flint tools and examples - some very fine - of the tools themselves. If this era interests you, allow enough time to browse slowly.

We enjoyed our visit to the museum, and we are eager to encourage any small town to have a place to house their archeological items as well as their historical art. There were some impressive archeological items, including a woolly mammouth tusk and the bones...More

And that about sums it up really, a load of badly signed artefacts with occasional bits of prehistoric relics that almost make it worthwhile. Not even air conditioned and no cafe!!

The magnificent frontage and foyer, tempted us to visit,The Musee de perigord, what disapointment, the interior, peeling paintwork, windows covered over with cardboard, and whoever is in charge of paintings should be ashamed, every painting in need of firstly being properly hung and lit,(skylights were either...More

There are plenty of exhibits but very much the same, it needs a face lift. There are museums and there are museums, this falls into the 'must I go' bracket. Not expensive and maybe that's the reason.
