This is a small sandy beach and only accessible by a steep path. When I visited in August it was very crowded but not uncomfortable. There was a life guard supervision and a marked swimming area. As with most beaches on this coast the waves roll in a quite a pace so sometimes not suitable for children. There is no catering on the beach but there is a food 'bus' in the car park.

The trail down to this beach was in good condition, but would have been impossible for people with strollers or the elderly. Not a casual beach visit. The undertow was also strong with a lot of large rocks under foot (low tide). That said, it was absolutely stunning and a wonderful beach experience. Clear water. Lots of surfers by the headland on the north end.

Tuesday, August 13, 2024, The view of the beach seen from the parking lot, pushed us to go down and settle there to spend a moment of laziness except that it did not happen like this at all. We were slowly descending when I slipped because of the sand just above the Rescue Cabin. Result I broke my ankle bi malleolar fracture, the rescuer is very nice, smiling but incompetent, my husband was forced to tell him what to do. I find myself there, waiting for lack of surgeon, to be operated on as quickly as possible in the middle of August, all because nothing is reported around, nothing is arranged for comfort and safety, not a sign that prevents the risks of slipping. By the time Henday's fire department arrived dozens of people were slipping past me, fortunately not falling as hard. The firefighters and emergency room of the St Jean de luz polyclinic told me it was often!! What is waiting for the city to do something, I saw myself, leave my resort 4 days before the end of my vacation, so I paid 3 nights for nothing, I am suffering and now I am waiting for a surgery that will embarrass me financially because I will have 6 weeks of plaster, then just as much or more rehabilitation, which is equivalent to a big loss of salary, all for a beach whose approaches are poorly maintained!!! What is the city waiting for??

Small beach, watchers hitting on girls on the beach, while another is in distress in the water. Bravo!!! Run away.
