Not to be missed. So beautiful inside specially the "retablo" and such an unexpected balcony inside make it so pleasant.

In the heart of St. Jean de Luz is the Eglise de St. Jean-Baptiste where Louis XIV married Marie-Therese of Spain. The altarpiece with 18 statutes of saints is stunning and dominates the church. The portal facing Gambetta street through which the married couple walked...More

This is a great stop while you are on rue Gambetta. With the hustle and bustle outside the calm and serene interior is jaw-dropping.

I had no idea que El Rey Sol was married in this beautiful church. It has such an interesting interior design and the alter is fantastic. I highly recommend it for a quick visit

Attended Mass in this church last Sunday - this beautiful, ornate old church (where Louis XIV was married) was packed to capacity. Mass took just over an hour. Recommend a visit.

Worth a trip into the centre of st Jean de luz, free to enter and just beautiful. A true gem, never seen a galleried church quite like this.

A nice church, in the center of the town. Nice atmosphere and decorations, a quiet place for contemplation.

Sorry, I do not know as I only visited the church once when on holiday, however there are sites like Geneanet that have a lot of information about surnames etc.,
