On the one hand we were lucky enough to visit on a holiday when entrance was free, however it was also very busy. This is a popular tour bus drop off location so early morning or late afternoon is best to visit. The castle it's...More

The best thing here is to go to the top of the keep for the views around the city, but then this can also be done from the Clock Tower!

Very well kept chateau/castle with lots of interesting rooms to visit. Great views from it too, and very reasonable to go in. Well worth a visit

We walked the castle walls on a windy and not so pleasant day. The views from the castle walls are wonderful, looking towards the beaches and the islands.

Great views over the town and surrounding countryside. You have to climb a lot of steps through. It is a good reflection on life centuries ago with massive rooms and fireplaces.

We have toured many castle ruins, and this was one of the better ones. The structure is virtually all intact. We were able to climb all the way onto the roof and the views of the town were great. They have many artifacts inside and...More

Very interesting place to visit if you don't have any form of disability, too many stairs with one side with no handrail or stair to walk safely.
