A very good way to get bearings in the old town, plus historically interesting. Probably a good idea to wear reliable walking shoes as there is a bit of upholstery cobble stone work involved. Fabulous views from the ramparts, and great photo opportunities.
If possible start this walk from the port de plaisance down on the river, and walk up to the town gate, and around the walls clockwise from there. There are breaks in places, but it is fairly self evident and you don’t need a map....More
You can buy a town map for €0.20 at the tourist information centre, which has a marked walk on around the ramparts. We did the walk when it was raining but still thought the town looked beautiful. There are information boards dotted at various points...More
