Every exhibit in this museum is carefully and thoughtfully presented with extensive explanations in French, Breton and English. The earliest prehistory connects its history with neighboring countries and shows how the culture evolves. Beautiful sculptures from many time periods, costumes from various towns worn during...More

Housed next to the Cathedral St. Corentin in the historic Bishop's chateau (as I recall) the building is only the first delightful sight of your visit! Every item on display in this museum has historic links to the people of Brittany, was worn by a...More

This small museum has excellent displays about the early history of the Quimper region from pre-history to the 16th century on the ground floor and a marvelous collection of costumes from several regions of Brittany on the second floor.

This museum is well presented and a delight to visit. One sees the history of the region, the fascinating Breton costumes and m uch more. We visited in a day when entrance was free, a real bonus. A must visit if you are in Quimper.

Very pleasantly presented displays with good information. Enjoyed current exhibition of posters through the golden age of train travel. Wish the railways were still as extensive. Senior concession was a bonus.

The four or five small but packed floors (we lost track) of this tucked-away museum hold so many treasures--from ancient archaeological artifacts of the region (which has been occupied for some 600,000 years), to Roman-era objects (coins, tiles, sculptures), to early Christian iconography (paintings, sculptures,...More

Next to the cathedral in a former palace built in the 16th century, this is a well presented regional history museum. It includes artifacts from prehistory, Roman, middle ages, etc.
