This is a well above average cathedral for France; terrific stained glass and impressive high ceilings. Not quite five stars but close!

This cathedral was started in the 12th century. We only had a quick visit, but we were pleasantly surprised by the simple grandeur of the design..

The sheer scale of this beautiful cathedral is impressive as is its magnificent pipe organ. We were incredibly blessed to venture into the cathedral to hear the organist practising for a recital later that afternoon. Wonderful acoustics and to hear the sound rolling through the...More

Unexpected for the size of the city, this cathedral is massive . The high ceilings, the not too ornamental windows and the sheer size of the place sitting higher up on the hillside make it the most impressive sight in Auxerre.

A stunning cathedral with a very high roof and beautiful stained glass windows! During our visit there was a lady practicing the flute and the music just made it a magical experience and a memory we will cherish forever. One of our favorites.

Though the restaurant I reviewed here was great, this is the reason to come. It is a part of the whole circle of great Gothic cathedrals in Burgundy (and farther afield) with lots of 12th-century glass to admire.

Auxerre is a most beautiful city - especially the Old Town area. Best visited in a canal boat, living on the water. The Cathedral St-Etienne is truly stunning and a must-visit site.

Cathedrale St-Etienne is a magnificent gothic church from 1200's and is a must do when in Auxerre. We winded The stained glass windows were amazing. There was also a light show on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
