Overview
More
The Caves Bailly Lapierre are located in the heart of the Auxerrois, above the town of St Bris le Vineux. Created in 1972, the Caves Bailly Lapierre gather together 71 winegrowers who sell their cremants, the Caves' specialty, and wines on site. Dug deep in the stone, the wine caves are used as a cradle in which to create cremants. Guided tours of the caves are organized every day from 2:30 to 5:30 pm, in july and august, and from 3:30 to 4:30 pm on weekends and bank holidays.

Underground with a temperature of 12 degrees and high humidity, so wear warm clothes! Includes Cremant tasting and younget to keep the champagne glasses. Informative guide and very interesting.

Our timing was unfortunate as no tour was available when we arrived. We did do some tasting though and came away with several bottles of Cremant, Rosé and dry which unfortunately have now all been consumed. Very light and fresh.

We set out to find the Caves and got lost then came across them by accident! Very different place to visit. The sparkling wine is absolutely gorgeous, we only bought a couple of bottles, big mistake! We should have bought a couple of cases, very...More

This was a different thing to do especially on what had been rather a wet day. Very enjoyable tour and an amazing sight of the thousands, maybe more, bottles of wine being stored in the caves. We enjoyed the tastings and bought some bottles to...More

Firstly, dress warm as the tour is underground! Parking your car underground is a fun experience... Tour is not expensive at €4, but the guide showed us pictures or equipment or barrels, no workings / production line. Price included samples of their products + branded...More

An amazing reveal as you walk through the corridor entry to this superb cellar. The scale is impressive and the Chablis and Mure well worth the visit.

Cool wine cellar in a cave. Definitely worth the stop to learn a bit more about how wine is made, and to see the literally millions of bottles stacked up in the dark, slightly spooky caves while it ferments. At the end of the tour...More

This wine cellar was very different and quite interesting. You drive into the caves with your car and all the wine tasting and tour is in the caves. The tour includes a walk around the caves with a guide explaining the wine making process. Very...More

We went to Les Caves on our barge trip and moored at the jetty below the caves. It was a steep 5 - 10 minute walk up to the cave but well worth it when we got there. There are regular tours of the cave...More
