The cathedral is quite a sight, with many picturesque cobbled streets leading up to the facade it feels typically french. I would highly recommend climbing the 400 steps up the tower, even if that number does seem a bit daunting, it is well worth the effort. The views over the old town are quite impressive and you really get a... More

I was shocked to find a cathedral of this scale in a small town like Bourges. Incredible architecture, flying buttresses, stained glass, and carvings/statues inside and outside. The story about the carvings on the center arch alone are amazing. It is worth getting a guide to explain this place and help you to "read the stained glass". There are local... More

Beautiful Cathedral with some of the oldest stained glass windows in Europe. In lovely surroundings.

We stopped a couple on nights near Bourges, and visited the city for the afternoon. Pleasant enough. The Cathedral is massive though. Occupying an obvious spot in the centre of town, and visible from miles around - we saw it the next day when we are driving quite away from the city. Cathedral is well worth a visit, really quite... This was my favorite Cathedral in France. It is stunning. The amount of décor and detail is just amazing, and they do a wonderful job lighting it up at nighttime.

We keep returning to visit this cathedral, sometimes driving out of our way to do so. It is stunningly beautiful.

I had a nice stroll in this cathedrale. The stained glasses are pretty amazing and the light in the place is stunning thank to them. I recommand to stop by, it is easy to park and it makes a nice stop on your way to the south of France.

Really worthwhile visit. Particularly recommend a visit to the crypt. Super garden near by with dancing on a Sunday lunch time. Didn't partake but enjoyed watching from the cafe

A stunning building with glorious quantities of superb stained glass - take binoculars if you can. (There was a hint of daylight coming through the junction between the side aisles and the central Nave on its middle southern side. Has anyone else seen that?)

Magnificent building with unusual layout. Whereas most churches as laid out in the shape of a cross, this on isn't. It is also huge!
