A spectacular cathedral with impressive stained glass windows. Within walking distance of Loire river, train station or downtown.

Went to Mass (11 am Sunday) and were welcomed and the service was very reverent but not over long. A joy to see so many families and the singing was excellent. The Cathedral is very interesting and not too austere

Beautiful cathedral; the only painting I did in Tours... Amazing and very expansive set of stained glass windows, including quite a few about the life of Saint-Martin.

Absolute plethora of stained glass and interesting architecture. Worth a visit if there is no service in progress.

I had a rainy day in Tours so went indoors although I would have visited this cathedral in any case. Like many Gothic cathedrals it is just impressive in itself and in its "Gothicness". I got some nice photos from inside the nearby Musee de Beaux Arts. Probably the most impressive part of it is the stained glass (apart from... More

This not very big cathedral is one of my favourite churches that I have seen. The architecture is quite different from other French churches. The glass work inside is really stunning, and not only in the front or the rear, but on every single part of the church.

You don't come to Tours primarily for its cathedral, but it is a pleasant diversion once you've arrived. It was built in the Romanesque style but the original building was completely overlaid by the Flamboyant Gothic style. The latter style is probably most evident in its impressive west front. Inside, while hardly overwhelming, the nave soars high, the stained glass... More

Great sculptures on the facade as all Gothic buildings. The detail was breathtaking. Great nave and stain glass windows.

I am not a cathedral or church seeker but I will explore any grand historic site. This cathedral has some of the best stained glass windows anywhere. Go when the sun is out and you are in for a treat.
