The Mercier experience is very different to the others on offer in Epernay. It's large, a well presented and equipped facility, both above and below ground and is probably the 'Disney' equivalent of the experiences on offer. The introductory film is shown in a purpose built theatre and on completion leads you into an entertaining decent into the cellars. I... More

You 100% have to do this tour when visiting Epernay, there were a few different options depending on how many glasses you wanted to taste but we went for the full package which we thought was still very reasonable. We went quite early in the morning so it was quite quiet, you go in the lift down into the cellar... More

Great place to tour. The underground cellars are amazing. Starting with the elevator to the cellars and followed by the underground shuttles it makes a great tour and worth the time. There is so much champagne under there it is unbelievable.

Mercier is one of the really big, commercial champagne houses in Epernay. We normally avoid super touristic experiences like this (it did feel a bit put on / contrived!) but actually enjoyed this a lot. We went for the tour option with three tastings at the end - you could opt for one, two or three tastings at increasing prices.... More

Disney meets champagne is all I can say Great champagne, 2nd visit in 3 months and still finding out more about Monsieur Mercier Tried the €16 offer first and this gives you 1 glass of champagne, on the 2nd visit we tried the €26 tour (the tour are all the same however you get to try 2 other champagnes) For... First experience of the champagne houses. This is a large museum and very informative. Great to go on a little train to tour the cellars. Great information using headsets selected to all nationalities.

We try to visit a champagne cellar and looking for that one, which is good for children, too. This cellar has a little train, than it is ideal to "arrange" fun for children. That was the reason to choose this cellar. The visit was ok, maybe too "arranged" and "tour-kind" and "turistic", but we see everything and everything was shown... More

A short video and a 10-minute train ride around the cellars with an audio-guide, followed by a glass of Mercier Brut for 16 Euro. I suppose it's good for some people but I wasn't impressed at how little information was given about the champagne making process. Quite a few people didn't finish their glass and nobody bought any. It's all... More

Let's face it. You can't visit too many champagne houses, even though in Epernay you can walk from one to the other. Each place offers a full flute and after a few of those, you will be staggering, not walking. Therefore, pick your tours carefully. We really enjoyed the Mercier tour. The train ride was a great way to travel... More
