This museum is within the grounds of the citadel and although the entrance is all part of the overall ticket that you purchase, this is worth it's own review. The museum is dedicated to the year of war, occupation and resistance during WW2. It has...More

Astonishing number of artifacts very carefully put together in a rather harrowing collection of memorabilia from the Nazi era. Interesting to note was the fact that in many of the photos on display, Hilter's facial features had been scratched out! Naughty of the perpitrator, but...More

I’ve written about this in the Citadel section but feel it deserves a separate review. I’ve been to the Holocaust Museum outside Jerusalem but this one is different insofar as it relates to how these world wide events directly affected the Franche Comté region. I...More

An interesting museum, very informative with many artefacts and pictures. Written guides in English are provided but only in rooms 1-10 this made it difficult to understand rooms 11-20.

Very well documented museum devoted on a period which most of us did not experience, but which should nevertheless been forgotten.

Unless you are really fit, take the bus up to the Citadelle. Give yourself plenty of time, there is a lot to experience with the museum. It is well laid out moving through the war years and the development of the resistance movement. Our visit...More
