While not undiscovered, the gardens at Palais Royal are a bit hidden from the crowds and make a great gathering spot close to Louvre without the crush of people. Beautiful to walk around or stop at a cafe and grab a coffee.

This is a lovely palace with a nice central garden/courtyard area, but it would have been nicer if we could have toured INSIDE the palace. Still, the garden area was quite pleasant and worth the walk.

The Palais Royal is a lovely building, but not being accessible to the public makes it less appealing to most. We only enjoyed a quick stroll in the palace's gardens.

We didn't have time to visit during our first visit to Paris but made sure to see it this time, and glad we did. The Gardens are beautiful and very relaxing. One of those "smell the roses" Paris experiences.

Great building and history. Worth of visit if you just have enough time. In my opinion it's not the attraction if you have only couple of days

The Palais Royal is not opened to the public however the gardens can be visited and the grounds are free to visit. Impressive building that Louis XIV grew up in.

The Palais Royal has to one of my most favourite spots in Paris. Nestled in the heart of the 1st it is a tranquil retreat at any time but in spring it is gorgeous. It’s a must see when in Paris.

Yes, it's free. It's a park for the surrounding buildings but open to the public, at least every time I've been there. Retail shops are along the arcade in the first floor of the buildings.
