This famous Left Bank neighborhood, so named because the numerous university students in the area spoke only Latin to their professors until the French Revolution, preserves an authentic Parisian atmosphere of old.

There's plenty of local color here and a variety of eateries. It's a busy, bustling, crowded area that offers on-street markets. But it does lack some of the elegance and refinement of other parts of Paris, and can be overwhelming.

This area is loaded with lots of options to eat, drink and interesting entertainment. The narrow streets and little alcoves hold some of the best patisseries, boulangeries and restaurants that Paris has to offer. Stroll around the area and pick up an expresso...or some specialty...More

I stayed in Latin Quarter for about a week. It was a bit noisy at night, but I also liked the energy and lively atmosphere. Surrounded by good restaurants.

Lively, vibrant neighborhood between the 5th and the 6th, one my all time favorites in Paris. Hustling and bustling university life, energetic young crowd, lovely cafes, shops, winding narrow streets - all of it around the Sorbonne. Always a pleasure to revisit.

As the bustling center of entertainment for the
residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon
never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional
cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets
surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide
eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just
next door and the prototypical terraced French
brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this

We really enjoyed the Citadines saint-germain-des-prés. The location is great. Right on the Sein, a 10 min walk to Notre Dame, 15 min to the Louvre.

It is very hard to find an upscale hotel for the price you are seeking, accommodation for your price range is more quaint and if look under apartment for rent, you may get something reasonable in the Latin quarter.
