This is is the only example of a double spiraling starcase in Paris. The interiors is Baroque in style. Most churches are dark inside, but this one is light, welcoming, and very beautiful. This church has been mentioned in one of Ernest Hemingway’s books, and...More

This church is one of my favorites among the dozens that stand in Paris. It has eclectic architecture -- Flamboyant, Gothic and Renaissance -- that work well together. The interior offers an array of striking elements, including gorgeous stained-glass windows; a stunning shrine to Saint...More

Large impressive church from the outside, even more so on the inside. As imposing as anything in Rome. Well looked after, with many things to see inside, including a memorial to St Genevieve. This church gave access to a large chapel inside it. Please donate...More

In his book, The Sun Also Rises, Hemingway wrote of meeting friends here. Not sure if he attended here or just used this area as a meeting point. The church is very basic yet beautiful in it's own ways. Candles available for lighting. No fee...More

We were in this area looking for the Pantheon and it was closed. Since we were in the area, this beautiful church was next door and so we ventured inside and it was very nice.

This church is a must see to enhance all the history and events associated with St. Genevieve and the Pantheon. The sheer beauty of its edifice and its inner sanctums is breathtaking. One gets a fine exposure to the unrest that is so entwined with...More

Amazingly beautiful church right behind the Pantheon. The altar is magnificent with white spiral staircases on either side. Beautiful stained glass windows, statues and artwork. But the highlight is the shrine, which is a gold lattice worked casket that contains St. Genevieve’s burial stone. I...More

Beautiful, amazing architecture, very quiet, yet in a busy area. Lovely place to just sit and look at all the religion and history.

I think that best impression is its outside appearance, even though it is also very beautiful inside. IMHO that is the most beautiful church of Paris, really underestimated. Even walking in Pantheon was still thinking about Eglise Saint-Etienne-du-Mont de Paris. A must-see

Visiting the Sorbonne and the Pantheon, you will find this church just behind, before starting the downhill of the Quartier Latin. They preserve here a piece of the St. Genevieve's casket.

architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The

by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin
once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which
