Looking for an unusual French gift for a child, teenager, or anyone else? This is the store for you. With unique ideas, colors, and shapes. This fun store will captivate you with its originality. First saw it in NIce, but they have shops in Lyon and Paris, and probably other cities, too, in France. Lovely gift wrap is free, and... More

We stumbled upon this shop in the mall near the Louvre. It was the perfect place to find gifts for friends and family back home. For instance, we found rubber oven mitts shaped like animals, magnets, oven timers, picture holders, cheese graters and much, much more! Shops in multiple locations near tourist sites. We would definitely visit Pylones again.

The kids really like this store, and it is a great place to buy gifts. When we visited four years ago, I bought a great purple rubber Eiffel Tower keychain that is still in great shape. We also bought colourful bike bells for our family, and they work reasonably well. This trip, we also bought a cute turquoise rubber slap... More

Colours everywhere and affordable presents. For yourself or presents to give once back home. I like the shops in Marais or Ile Saint Louis

Two small stores with fanciful items that will make you smile. Many items are small and easy to pack

So much random, kitschy stuff. It's like every small appliance was redesigned using Japanese sensibilities. It's at the Louvre so no reason not to go. Kids are totally optional. :)

This is a crazy shop full of everything you never thought you would need but still want to buy, Bright vibrant displays lure you in and you will find yourself picking up a kitchen utensil wondering will it really make your life better. Some great gifts in here for teenagers and young children

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
