We were a sisters group of 7 and wanted to get as much out of Paris as possible, but a little off the beaten path. We did two tours with Richard. One of Marais and one of St. Germain. We learned historical information, the best place to buy chocolate and other food items, and saw a side of Paris we... More

I had the pleasure to tour Le Marais with Richard and had a great time. Richard was a wealth of information about the area and the neighborhood. Some of the stories were quite fun and shed a light about the history of Le Marais. We did couple of fun stop for chocolate, coffee and pastries. The shopping in the area... More

We enjoyed the Marais and St Germain des Pres tours. Richard was absolutely fantastic! My husband and I only had 4 days in Paris and wanted to ensure we truly had the best experience. Paris is huge and filled with hidden gems. It's absolutely impossible for a foreigner to know which door, among hundreds of beautiful doors, to open to... More

Richard revealed a few architectural gems that we would never would have know how to find on our own. We went to the best bakery/patisserie and shops in the area. All along the way he peppered our visit with interesting insights and charm. Highly recommended.

My family and I had a wonderful time checking out a few Paris sites with Richard. Richard loves his city and it showed as he shared fun historical facts along with beautiful architecture! We really enjoyed visiting an area filled with amazing local artisans. Richard "Makes It Work!" 😉

Richard led a fun and informative tour sharing his knowledge of the history of these beautiful covered passages. I loved all of the details he shared about what made each passage so unique. I would highly recommend any of Richards tours to anyone visiting Paris.

We had a wonderful experience with Richard. His tour was very informative and he makes the whole tour very personable with his wealth of knowledge of the area. It was great to see the area through the eyes of a local and eat in his favourite locations. Richard takes you to places that you would walk past and not notice,... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
