If you like writing by hand this is the place to go. Paper, ink and nibs and all you need to make letters or write in a notebook. This is a "must do" IF you are interesting in paper.

My husband and I stumbled upon Eric's shop on our very first night in Paris and it was love at the start. It is small, charming and just plain interesting. We tried out some of the calligraphy pens and felt warmly welcomed. We stopped in a couple of times and it's definitely one of the memories I will bring back.... More

This is an excellent little paper/card shop with many unusual items. I went back about three times just to browse. Loved it!

Stumbled on this delightful shop by chance, on a tourist amble. Heaven for me. I had just bought a cheap pad and pencil from a stationers - but now could choose a beautiful ink, pen and proper paper to paint Paris with moon dust. The experience is perfected by proprietor Eric de Tugny showing us how to enjoy the pens.... More

Paper, calligraphy, bookmarks, cards, all exquisitely beautiful (OK, he also sells a few "commercial" things). We first found this store a few visits ago. Eric de Tugny, the owner is a magnificent calligrapher and besides running the store for the past 25 years, also does personal calligraphy by commission. We go in and buy something every time we're in Paris,... More

What beautiful paper! And pens! You’ll find surprisingly affordable writing materials here, along with things like bookmarks and journals. Don't miss the amazing wall of envelopes people have sent to the shop. Beautiful!

I came across this store by accident one day on a trip to Paris and could not believe how amazing it was. You might not think that paper could be interesting, but this shop is full of the most beautiful writing materials. I bought a journal to write about my trip in, cards to mail home, and even a fancy... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
