I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the permanent collection of this museum. I’m not a big fan of the treasures of the aristocracy, but the exhibits are so far-ranging and varied that the artistry, rather than the excess, is what meets the eye....More

The Musee des Arts Décoratifs is a little known treasure connected to the Musee Louvre. Located on rue de Rivoli, this beautiful Musee has something for everyone. You'll love the "eye candy" as each gallery, each floor, each wing is ornamented with artistic amenities and...More

We knew the collection but came especially for that exhibition. Which was great, although lighting was too weak here and there

I’ve really come to love visiting this museum each visit to Paris. Their temporary exhibits are fantastic. May was an amazing jewelry & Hermès exhibit. Our November visit was a treat to see the exhibition of Gio Ponti spanning his tremendous career as architect and...More

The museum has some beautiful rooms and some very nice pieces. We were disappointed that the Medieval and Renaissance rooms were not available. It is worth a visit if you like design.

During my 1-week Paris trip, I went to a number of exhibitions including Egon Schiele/Jean-Michel Basquiat in Fondation Louis Vuitton, Picasso in Musée d'Orsay and Mucha in Musée Luxembourg. While they're all good, there're so many people inside that I really couldn't enjoy my visit...More

Stick to the Louvre itself, this museum is a waste of time. I am a design aficianado and find nothing whatsoever to recommend this museum. The best thing about it is the design shop.

Located in the western wing of the Palais du Louvre, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs was converted into a museum in 1905. A beautiful building with a dazzling permanent collection and special exhibitions, this is the world’s largest fashion and textile exhibition space dedicated to...More

This is my favorite part of the Louvre, devoted to the decorative arts. Separate entrance and separate fee. Manageable size. I love to tour the fantastic furniture, much of which was made in Paris.

It all depends on your interests and, first and foremost, on the number of visits you made to Paris or are planning to make, and, finally, on the length of your current visit. If your stay is limited, as it is often the case, by...More
