Smallish museum that costs €11 to get into. Each exhibit room is fairly small and floors 5 and above were closed for renovation. No comparison to the Victoria and Albert museum in London!

Le Musee des Art Decoratifs is sublime. Artfully crafted exhibitions, both modern and anciens, and from fashion to furniture, the museum offers intelligent and elegant presentations of the decorative arts. It is a treat to experience!

The museum is best known for its period rooms -- Art Nouveau, Neo-rennaissance, etc -- featuring furniture, jewelry, and objets across centuries in a collection that will make you swoon. But special exhibits are more contemporary and set off the permanent collection well. We saw...More

Empty water bottles not allowed, if you’re a man apparently. To enter, I was forced to throw mine away by a grumpy security guard. This was even after I demonstrated it was clearly empty by unscrewing the cap and holding it upside down. Yes, empty...More

Much of the permanent collection is undergoing a renovation so only limited areas were open to the public. I was disappointed in the jewelry but surprisingly really enjoyed the section devoted to clothing produced by Hermes . I think my spouse thought I would want...More

In the vicinity of the Louvre, worth a visit. Was hoping for more fashion and textile but what there was is good. The jewellery is more like art. No queues a plus!

I went here to see the art deco exhibition which is lovely but could have been bigger. The layout of the museum is quite confusing.

We visit Paris regularly but for some reason had not been here for many years despite the fact that I love decorative arts. We enjoyed what we saw. I particularly liked the the very interesting but small jewelry exhibit. However, be aware that several floors...More

Having checked in the guide book, and knowing exactly what we wanted to see, we arrived in mid January looking forward to a pleasurable morning. We paid the entrance fee (€11) and only then did we see a small sign on the desk which said...More

Fantastic! This was THE best special exhibition I have ever seen. We walked through twice and took lots of pictures and videos. We are so grateful that we have them to enjoy at home. The setting is magnificent and a walk through the grounds of...More
