This is an exhaustive and informative exhibition on the Bauhaus movement, what inspired it and what it in turn inspired. All aspects of the movement are displayed including photographs, ceramics, theater, jewelry etc.. Interesting footage of contemporary films complete the show. Unfortunately the exhibition is crammed in a space...More

First, note that this museum is closed on Monday, open on Tuesday (unlike the Louvre). I went to look at the permanent exhibits, as I hadn't been before. Wonderful Art Nouveau furniture etc, also Art Deco. But floors 5-9 are closed at the moment, so...More

I was here for the recent fashion exhibit and again for the Bauhaus and fashion exhibits. All three were excellent. This may be my favorite Paris museum. They layout lends itself to well expressed intersections of ideas and themes. It's between the Louvre and L'Orangerie...More

Of course I wouldn't try to persuade a first-time visitor to skip the Louvre and come to this jewel, but that visitor wouldn't be disappointed. The special exhibit on the the Spirit of the Bauhaus was just lovely -- beautiful pieces very nicely displayed. The...More

We always come to Paris to see the exhibitions as they are so much better than London shows, and we try and see most things at this museum as it's exceptional. This show was the Bauhaus. Had such wonderful things in that show. Was really...More

The Musee des Arts Decoratifs is an outstanding specialized museum that deserves a visit. It wouldn´t seem to be a must when visiting Paris, considering that it´s located just beside the Louvre. In fact my first idea was going to the Louvre, but the long...More

A mind blowing collection of objects designed for living. The recommended route transitions from medieval to modern including rooms from Jeanne Lanvin's home and exquisite Art Deco and Art Nouveau furnishings etc. The curation of the permanent exhibits is fascinating and draws you on. We...More

Most people who visit Paris don't usually go to this museum even though it's just down the road from the Louvre. If you appreciate great design this would be something to include on your list of places to see in Paris. They have a wonderful...More

We would never have visited this museum had it not been on our Paris Museum Pass a number of years ago. It is a very interesting museum and it always has informative special exhibits. This time there was a Bauhaus Exhibit - which cost extra...More

Louvre / Palais-Royal
From the majestic Louvre to the regal Palais-Royal,
this neighbourhood oozes luxury. The grand arches
along Rue de Rivoli are shadowed by mosaics in front
of decorated vitrines and hotels. Place Vendôme is
lined with the world’s best jewelers and their
glittering window displays. Every other establishment
has someone to open the door for you or park your car.
You can spend hours gazing at its haute couture shops

Hi, we will be visiting Paris in mid Feb and I would like to know if the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is worth visiting for the fashion and textile displays. My daughter is very interested in fashion design und unfortunately the YSL Foundation and the Galliera are both closed during our visit. Thanks
