So it was all Christmasy inside and it was very nice and cozy. It is a beautiful place and has so much history. I did not do the climbing experience. Simply walked around the Cathedral, which was very busy at the time.

Even in cold gray weather, well worth the climb to experience some of the construction up close and to see fantastic panoramas of Paris.

Notre Dame is one of the top tourist attractions in Paris, so if you want to get in quickly, go early in the morning (before 9:30 AM) to avoid the crowds and large tourist groups.

We happened upon this at a time when there was Christmas services, a Mass was in process and the music was wonderful and the internal and external architecture and awe inspiring. A must see in Paris, especially at this time of year.

Oh the steps, oh the view. As you may have guessed it will be busy, go early as you can. Remember every first Sunday of the month certain attractions are free. If not the museum pass is worth the money for its fast track ability....More

The Cathedrale was built in the middle of the 13th century which makes it a nice example of the radiant Gothic style. I had a nice time walking through its flying buttresses, arrows and authentic roofs.

Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,

It closes fairly early. And I feel that it should not be missed. My cousin is a tour guide and even she couldn’t get us in. Go early
