at 11 Euro per person to get in and a little more for the guided tour, it is well worth the visit. The interiors are beautiful in all 4 corners from the main opera to the libary and walking the outside balconies

The Garnier Opera House is the jewel, and one should either attend a concert or take a tour to see the interior. The area around is full of hotels, food, and coffee. Great place to hang out.

So very easy to imagine bygone days, lady's and gentlemen dressed in gowns and waist coats attending ballets and operas. Visually stunning, grand, a taste of yesteryear, worth the price to be astounded. Even the toilets are beautifully rendered. You can just imagine when you...More

We have been staying close to the Opera House and have been very happy to base our stay in Paris here. I know there are so many amazing areas to stay and this one might be a little more quiet. Obviously close to some fantastic...More

A fairly average sort of area. The Opera House was OK on the outside. Didn't go in but understand its lovely inside. We went to the Paris Story which is a 1 hr film about the history of places etc. The venue is just opposite...More

I think to really appreciate the heritage of the area you need to be into theatre and films. This area of Paris is great but there is so much to see in other parts. I think this is a good area to base your stay...More

Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle
époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades,
and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here,
modern day workers continue to take advantage of the
legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th
century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and
cinemas sit side by side with French bistros
predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Me and my other half will be visiting Paris for the first time for a few days. I have been researching and i really like the look of the opera district however would like to ask for opinions on it this area. We are young however want to see everything Paris has to offer. Preferably would like to say somewhere picturesque but with nice coffee shops in easy reach places. We don't mind walking to places - a bit hesitant on taking public transport however we're aware we would need to. Any pros and cons anybody could list for this area? Example if it's too expensive/hard to get to places or even any positive views. I've heard that the restaurants aren't that great in the 9th district either! Very confused as to where to stay now. I did like the look of the W hotels opera too. Thank you all in advance!

Hi, I'll be travelling alone but I still want to see the Opera district at night. Is it safe to walk alone or do you know if they offer evening walking tours? I already have a tour booked for Paris. Thanks
