This shop is crowded with books and people. It is packed full of any used book imaginable printed in English. Mostly softcover and nothing special but perhaps in Paris such books are a novelty.

Not for the photographer. The impressive bookstore is a practical resource for readers searching for otherwise hard to find work. Used and new books. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and resourceful. I spent an impressive hour combing the basement and skimming the first floor for...More

The Abbey is the rarer, more specialized version of 'Shakespeare&Co' for those who truly are into literature and who like to talk about it with the shop owner. I found a rare edition of Mishima's 'Runaway Horses' that I could of never found anywhere else...More

I knew about the Abbey Bookshop but never having been there I stumbled upon it when walking around the Latin Quarter. Not looking at the bookshop’s name, or the Canadian flag hanging stock-still on the wind-free Paris afternoon, what made me stop and look was...More

This one is easy to miss. It's tucked into a small street, just off the beaten path. And there isn't that pesky line of tourists waiting to get in like that "other" English language bookstore down the road. I've accidentally bumped into this place twice...More

Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the

cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets
surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide
eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just
