This is the heart of the city with wonderful food markets and splendid architecture. Lots of affordable interesting restaurants and cafes that fill up with the hipsters. Super cool part of town.

I keep a travel journal with me and noted that this area had many unique and interesting to see alleys. The area has much more indeed to offer besides alleys but everyone has already told you about them, but the alleys are what caught my...More

Very central neighborhood and one of my favorites, not so much because of the sites, but because of the street life. Lots of cafes and restaurants, many with reasonable prices. Youthful. But don't miss the covered passages.

This area isn't touristy but the buildings have a quaint old world charm about them. Also there are some lovely hidden areas for the local people to enjoy - for example the Fontaine Louvois (see pic) which is inside a park with lots of seating...More

Expensive area to live to be sure. Walked through this area to go to an international bank. Also walked past a market outside the Palais Brongniart. 1837.

Stayed here many times and will return as this area is in the middle of it all. Also very lively with a great cafe and restaurant selection. The food market on Rue Montorgueil. The covered passages. Lots of beautiful historic buildings. Rue Reamur!
