We took the RER train from Paris to the Palace of Versailles, unaware that it is closed on Mondays. We were allowed to enter the palace grounds for free, and take a peep on the interior through the doors. It was winter time, the gardens were bare, but we can imagine the splendour and the glory of this place. As... More

This place is incredible. The day was beautiful. There were a lot of visitors, we waited an hour to get inside. But when you enter .... you feel like in a fairy tale. We spent the whole day watching the castle and walking through the parks. Definitely must see.

I last visited Versailles palace with school 12 years ago, last time I went was in summer and this time it was -3 degrees!!! However even though it was so cold, it still didn't ruin the visit. I would advise to go for 9am as there are less queues, you will get in quickly, be prepared for lots of security... More

I highly recommend to read or watch movies about the french history especially the era before the french revolution before your visit. I mostly enjoyed the gardens more than the castel. They are extremely beautiful especially during good weather.

My daughter and I ventured to Versailles on a rainy Sunday morning. The journey by van was a tourist delight....traveling out of Paris and into the city of Versailles gave us a chance to see many sights along the way. Arriving in Versailles, our driver dropped us off for our tour. We met our scheduled guide and entered the chateau... More

The regally opulent Château de Versailles is France’s most famous palace. This was the political capital and seat of the royal court from 1682 to 1789. Once home to King Louis XIV, today it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Hall of Mirrors, in particular, is mindblowing! Other highlights include the apartments, the chapel and the gardens. The palace is... More

Be sure to visit Chateau de Versailles when you are in France. You will be awed by the grand, splendid palace and its the one in the world lavish garden. Words can not express my feeling while walking along the tall-neatly-trimmed-tree lined path, filled with sculpture.

Many people miss this tour because indeed it is far from paris and the transportation is confusing, but there are organised tours that make things easier. You would need to spend a day for this , while paris its self is more fascinating . The queus are really annoying there, almost offensive and there are no clear directions for anything.... More

Seriously, it does not matter how many days you're staying in Paris, but you've got to save a whole morning or afternoon to visit the Palace of Versailles. It's a live history class, all the rooms and its furniture, the gardens, the Hall of Mirrors.... A must do: when finish the tour inside the castle, buy yourself a box of... More
