Lucky Elisabeth to b given this Estate by her brother Louis XVI - substantive grounds and mansion (unfortunately not open on the day we visited). Take some time to sit and enjoy the stillness of the orchard. For children - we saw the ppultry grden and some sheep. and not a tourist in sight.

A nice little Park, located down town Versailles. Very romantic and nice looking. Not known by tourists, so worth visiting during a sunny afternoon

Versailles Montreuil is the neighborhood around L’ Eglise St . Symphorien . Rue de Montreuil is a short but sweet commercial street starting at the rotary in front of the church running up to Place Alexandre and the statue of Ndré Le Nôtre (Louis XIV’s garden landscaper ) and ave St.Cloud. More interesting are the off the beaten track historical... More

Sometimes the big-hitter attractions are a trite too packed for comfort. With this in mind we trotted Down Ave de Paris for about 20 minutes to arrive to this park that attracts locals, children and sans tourists. Sure its not as big as the Sun King's Playpen and grounds, not 800 acres but offers a Orangerie and wonderful grounds. We... More

The house and gardens of Madame Elizabeth are a quiet place to reflect and stroll. Among the curiosities the garden has to offer are a grotto, Orangerie, poetic walkway (though the poems are only in French), a giant Bonsai tree from Madame Elizabeth's time, and the relatively modest house of Madam Elizabeth. If you have more than a day to... More

This place is a perfect example of something you stumble across during your European travels where you need to stop, and take in the incredible scenery, and just admire how amazing it is! When I was here I felt like I was in some sort of beautiful countryside side in the middle of France, not just on the outskirts of... More
