This museum is worth a visit. The attendant (a middle aged lady) was very pleasant. This is a very frightening museum of all the atrocities people can do on the name of religion. It was more informative than the museum of the Chateau and the...More

Sure you got to see life size replicas of instruments of torture, but the entire museum was so poorly put together it felt like a scam to be charged €9.50 (more than visiting the inner castle and ramparts). You're not allowed to take pictures and...More

This was interesting in a historical sense if somewhat gruesome. Not done in a particularly high tech or professional way.

Not exactly funny but quite educative when judging todays punishment and torture methods in various parts around the world

I should have stuck with my first reaction when we got here, but after a fabulous castle tour 16 euros, we had to spend 19euros to enter this ridiculous garden shed full of sad relics! What a total mistake. The castle tour took us 2...More

A museum with information on the persecution of the Cathars by the Catholic Church; with some rather grim exhibits showing you how the Catholic Inquisition tortured those who dared to disagree with the Pope!

It's embarrassingly poor. The 'exhibits' are not even genuine, looks like some DIY person has done it - not worth a visit if it were free. save 9 euro don't go

A strange place to visit yet informative. As to the authenticity of the displays I wonder. Quite disturbing that people can think of creating these types of things

All the museum is about torture. None of the artifacts is real. All reproductions. Super expensive and not worth at all. Tourist trap. Lowert point of our visit to Carcassonne, that otherwise was very good.
