This is a delightful spot whether in summer or winter. The 5km walk around the lake is full of interest particularly in the late afternoon when the lake reflects the trees and the declining sun. Just a pity that on the day we visited there were several dogs roaming unattended and a couple of motor cyclists shattering the calm and... More

This is about a 10-15 minute (8kms) drive from Carcassonne town (east side) and took us about 2 and 1/2 hrs to go round at a stroll. Just be aware that although it has a good tarmac path most of the way it is not flat, in fact there are a few quite steep hillocks. Plus there is one point... More

A lovely spot just 3 miles from Carcassonne. Lake itself beautifully clear, was used for swimming, canoeing, rowing and fishing on our visit. Plenty of parking up the hill.

This summer my 15 year old daughter visited the lake, she didn't wantb to take part iin the water activities but agreed that they looked excellent - so we spent a pleasant afternoon strolling around the lake along the pathways. Peaceful and relaxing but always you felt safe. We'll definitely go again ... and who knows, might go on the beach... More

Thought we would visit the lake hoping to see some of the activities mentioned in the guide books. Nothing was happening, just a few people having picnics or sitting on the sand by the water's edge. There are toilets, but no other facilities. The snack bar was fenced off, and don't even know if it is in business in summer... More

Freshwater lake surrounded by grassy slopes, forest trails and beach areas (one small sandy one, the others pebbled). A very picturesque setting for a day out, whether you're looking to catch some sun, take a swim or a stroll, or avail of some of the activities on offer (kayaking, pedal-boating, etc.). The beaches, lake and surrounding areas were exceptionally clean... More

Good day out for all the family. It's a bit of a walk from the car park but worth it when you get there. Reasonably priced for the range of fun slides etc on offer. You get given life jackets which are needed as you get exhausted pretty quickly from climbing back up onto obstacles. Just outside the city of... More

Lake is beautiful and was not too busy (think the kids went back to school today!). Walked around the perimeter which was lovely although takes around an hour. Just a shame there are not obvious rocks to swim off. We then got some sun on the beach but the water was not so appealing on this section of the lake... More
