When I visited Toulouse in the 1980s, all I could do was admire the facade of this 16th century building, which was not open to the public. As a result of renovations made to accommodate the art collection of the Bemberg Foundation, the building can now be seen, and it is quite splendid, as is the collection of art now... More

This is a very beautiful museum, located in a lovely palace. The paintings are very interesting and I was also lucky to see an exhibition of german goldsmith treasures. The staff is very friendly.

Lovely building housing an incredible collection including, China, statues and paintings. My children were so impressed to see the many unusual Picasso, Toulouse Lautrec, Monet and many other fabulous artists. Fun short quizzes for the children to complete on the tour. At the entrance there was a lovely looking outdoor cafe but we didn't eat there only because we had... More

Didn't go inside to the Fondation so can't give 5 stars as didn't get the whole experience, however the little square you stand in is great, can really see the Renaissance architecture and there's a very interesting back-story to the building (built not as a hotel but as the ORIGINAL meaning of hotel, a big house/palace, belonging to a market-vendor... I had very limited time in Toulouse and it was quite by accident that I discovered Hotel d,Assezat. If you are into Fine Arts this is a must. Look up the history on the internet but essentially this is a Renaissance style, once private, mansion bulging at the seams with visual delights: furniture, objet d'arts, porcelain etc etc.

it's on your way, so just step in and look around. A nice courtyard with some nice details, well worth a stop on your tour.

We didn't have time to go through the buildings, but we did stop and have a cup of tea on the balcony overlooking them. The area was beautiful and we will have to return and see inside another time.

If you're in TOulouse you really should visit the Hotel Assezat. It is really impressive and is definitely one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Inside the building many headquarters to many society but the most interesting is the Foundation Bemberg. One of the best private collections of all south of France. A lovely place to see.

A wonderful opportunity to see a sumptuous villa and the gallery is so well laid out - portraits, porcelain, Impressionists. Some superb pieces by Renoir, titian and Toulouse-lautrec
