    Interesting place!
Was in Toulouse for the rugby World Cup and saw the Giacometti exhibition was one so made so time to come here. Quite an amazing building and good exhibition space. The exhibition was good- focusing on different aspects of his work. I was staying in the area and the place was easy to find.

An Artistic Odyssey at Les Abattoirs Museum, Toulouse: A Glowing Review
My visit to Les Abattoirs Museum in Toulouse, featuring the exhibition of Giacometti's masterpieces, was nothing short of a transcendent artistic journey. This museum not only showcases an exceptional collection but also orchestrates an immersive experience that captivates the soul. The exhibition of Giacometti's works was a profound exploration of the artist's vision and skill. The meticulous placement of sculptures and paintings allowed for a chronological voyage through Giacometti's artistic evolution. The curatorial finesse elevated the exhibit into a narrative, providing insight into the artist's influences and the evolution of his iconic style. The museum's ambiance played a pivotal role in enhancing the overall experience. The spacious galleries, bathed in natural light, created an atmosphere conducive to contemplation. The design of the exhibition spaces complemented Giacometti's artistry, allowing each piece to breathe and command attention. The museum's commitment to visitor engagement was evident. Informational panels and interactive elements provided context without overwhelming, enriching the viewing experience. The blend of multimedia presentations added a dynamic layer, breathing life into Giacometti's creations. The Les Abattoirs staff deserves commendation for their passion and knowledge. Their willingness to share insights and answer questions enhanced my appreciation of Giacometti's work. It's evident that the museum staff is dedicated to making art accessible and enjoyable for all visitors.

It was a great experience. People are friendly and they try to help. We asked for directions and people did help.
Toulouse is a beautiful, walkable city with lots to see. Didn't see the Abattoir as it was closed when we were there. Beautiful gardens like Japanese Garden, la Rond, Royal Garden all near each other. A great city to visit.

My rating is only a reflection of my interests. While in Toulouse, alone, I decided to follow TripAdvisor's list of to dos in the city. When I saw that next on my list was a modern art museum, I thought "oh no!" but while in the city, I wanted to see and do as much as possible. Hence I went anyway. The building is beautiful and the staff are great. It us worth a visit to see the building alone. But the art inside is definitely not for me, not my type at all although they are probably top class. I spent 10 minutes there with a very puzzled look on my face wondering "what?!" and so I left. Sorry! As I said, it is more a reflection on me, not the museum itself.

This really wasn't worth the trek to get to the museum or the 9 euro entry fee. It's got the grumpiest people I have met in Toulouse staffing it (rest of Toulouse staff are generally lovely so was quite surprised). There's a couple of things of interest but most of it was not my cup of tea. It only opens at noon and there is very little to do nearby while you wait for it to open.

Interesting conversion of old abattoirs into a contemporary art museum. Entrance ticket gives access to several exhibitions. Highlight was the restaurant in the grounds - delicious food at reasonable price.

Very interesting collection of paintings from Peter Saul. Entry cost is EUR3 but I had the Toulouse pass so it was free.

I have a vlog of my experience, please feel free to search for Beckyboos Travel Adventures on YouTube for more info.

Was very disappointed by our visit to the Abattoirs. I suppose I should have researched better, but there does not seem to be a permanent collection and the temporary exhibits were underwhelming. The surrealist exhibit featured a lot of photographs of artists and art, but no actual art. We wandered around wondering if we missed something. I'm sorry I missed the Giacometti show. There doesn't seem to be anything to replace it

I had chosen to visit this " Espace d'Art Moderne et Contemporain Les Abattoirs " on the first Sunday of the month because the entrance was free as in most of the Toulousian museums.
I did well because so I saved 6,10 € (the double of an entrance to the museum of the Augustins). Sure, I did see funny "things" as the characters or animals that climb the ladders in the big hall, or some decorative and quite original objects. Objects whose artistic qualities are not clear to me in spite of my willingness to become a member of the club of initiated amateurs.
The contemporary art is as a religion; one does believe or does not believe.
Sorry, but after that visit I remained a "non-believer".

After reading in the rOUGH guide that this museum was a"must" see in Toulouse, my expectations were probably too high. Apart from the big art work from Picasso , I did not found much more interesting pieces... So disappointed...

All the modern art you can eat here! Changing exhibitions and currently (lockdown territory) the best of what they've had so we can vote for our favourites - what's not to like?! The collection was truly international (and not overwhelmed by American artists). Hopeless at names bur I can say I loved an exhibit based on African historical art. Its on 4 floors and imaginative re-confiruging of rhe old abattoirs make it possible for then to show tall items as well as the more traditional wall-based things.
Try the restaurants on the grounds too - cafe overlooks the river and has basic items cooked on the spot (honest - you can see her cooking it!) or a more imaginative / expensive option with 3 course set menu,
