Interesting visit

Not quite what we expected but well worth a visit. The tiled old kitchen is amazing. No 2 tiles are the same. Lots of artefacts and history.

This was a great stop on a Lille day trip. For 4 Euros, it was well worth the visit. Downstairs you can walk through the original rooms of the hospice, and upstairs (in the former dormitory) there is a great collection of both art and antiquities. The museum is small -- will only take you an hour or so --... More

We entered this building thinking this would be a museum about the city of Lille. It was, of sorts. The downstairs of the convent recreates the interior of a typical early modern flemish house. That part was very successful. The upstairs is a mix between the history of the convent and that of the city, but the information panels are... More

I use to visit every time I travel to Lille and I have never been disappointed : the temporary exhibitions are always really interesting (up to 07FEB2017 you can see : "SAFET ZEC LA PEINTURE ET LA VIE" which I cannot recommend enough).

A pleasant hour wandering around. The architecture is interesting, we didn't see anything amazing on display. We visited on a weekend where state/town owned attractions were free. We would probably not wanted to pay much to visit if we had to.

We were in this museum, but had no idea what to see....we were so pleasantly surprised. Not only the building is interesting, the exhibion -Zec- was thrillingly excellent. We had not heard of this artist before.

First off, be sure to get the audio guide. Our French isn't great, but it seems that the plaques didn't hold all that much information. It's a little disjointed as a museum. It starts off as a reasonable recreation and outline of the building when it was a hospital, with some interesting things of note. However, when upstairs this turns... More

The most interesting part of the building was the architectural variety; due to fires during different periods of its existence, there are multiple, distinct styles to the wings. There is also a nice little museum of art and items, and the chapel ceiling is stunning. Admission was 3.5 euros, and the guidebook comes in multiple languages, which was very helpful.

Not what I was expecting at all and they should really make you aware before you go in that you can not access half the Hospice of there is another exhibition going on.
